So you ask me why that contortion act is called Bamboo Contortionists? Well, I don't know what's the
connection between bamboos and contortion. Bamboos seem to be the opposite of flexibility, since
they are stiff and tend to break. Maybe because the slender body statures of the girls are like the slim bamboos?
If I were the choreographer, I would call this act "Chinese Noodle Contortion",
because these girls are extremely supple and their body fold seamlessly. They possess tremendous endurance.
They are tough. See, a mouth supporting the weight of
three girls while the girl in the middle posing crutch-through! And the stacking of 6 girls in chest stand? It is as tall as a bamboo tree, truly!
These poses are probably first seen in the world. Let's applause the record-breaking flexibility of the young ladies.
